So here's a creature design I'm working on. I think it's different and really freakin' cute. I think I doodled it up a couple years ago in my Halflings, Ogres and Paladins class at AiS. The lovely Roxxy Goetz named it because I couldn't find something suitable, and so it got the name Wenlen.
A musical name for a mystical creature, the wenlen are a species of Sphinx, capable of human speech but without the annoying riddles, and more with the direct aid. Able to store thousands of years worth of knowledge in their brains, they are the great knowledge keepers of the world library. Many adventurers, when they stumble upon a Wenlen, know not to fear or attack it, for they are a very peaceful species and only hunt small game and never attack humans or other sentient beings. Graceful on land or in air, they are skilled observers of the entire world and suck up information like a sponge. Take care to be polite when meeting one, for if you are, they will answer as many questions as you can ask.
