Back in October I won the cover illustration contest for Gary Bakewells' "CloudDancer's Alaskan Chronicles Volume III". The challenge: getting an airplane to kneel at a grave. I believe this was successfully met in the fact that he chose my art and aided me in fixing it. I spent probably a total of two days on this project. First drawing the rough sketch and coloring it as a test piece:
Then cleaning it up in Photoshop:
This is no longer my artwork, but Gary gave me permission to use it as a portfolio piece, so show it off I will! I'm quite proud of my take on a humanized-Super Cub airplane, something I had never drawn before at all!
