7 Deadly Sins concept - Sloth

Titled "Sloth" because there is no better animal to describe Sloth than a Sloth!
Number 3 in the 7 Deadly Sins series.

7 Deadly Sins concept - Greed

Titled "Greedy Dragons" for a dragons renowned protectiveness over their treasures. 2nd in the 7 Deadly Sins series.

7 Deadly Sins concept - Lust

These are my concepts for some of the 7 Deadly Sins. On a more, cute level than some of the evil things I've seen in the past. First is "Lust Bunnies" titled for obvious reasons. A sexy bunny gal posing for the camera!

I'm quite aware of the fact that she closely resembles Lola Bunny from the Loony Toons franchise, just with a different coloring. I used the Loony Toon character style for most of the characters. So Loony Toons copyright Warner Bros.

Character Design - Wilhelmina "Will" Rizenbolt.

This is a character concept, my reaction to designing a "Wizard" per a teachers instructions. Her name is Wilhelmina, but her friends' call her Will. A tomboy since she was born, she decided to take the less conventional route for a girl possessing magical powers. Her mother, and her mothers' mother and so on before her were all hedge witches and midwives to their village, and she was expected to carry on in their footsteps. Her stubbornness shown through when her best friend, Geoffry was found to have magical powers and began studying under the Elder Wizard in their town. Upset with this, Will convinced Geoffry to teach her whatever he learned, and when her abilities made themselves known, the Elder Wizard admitted that her powers were much too great to be just a common hedge witch, and took her under his wing with Geoffry. Striking out as one of the lone female Wizards in her country, on an adventure of the ages, Will meets friends, foes and even gains her own Familiar, nothing less than a young Dragon whom she helps and forges a bond with. Garret, the dragonlet, pledges his life to her and unknowingly becomes attached for the rest of time. More adventure awaits this young Wizard, defying the norms of society and learning what really makes friends or enemies, as well as what her kingdom is really made of.

Dr. Mario's Anatomy Coloring Book!

At the Art Institute, all animation students (and some Game Art students) are plopped into a handy dandy Anatomy class! Don't get me wrong, this is a very important class, but it's really weird to hear a classroom full of Animators talking about the scientific names for every part of the body! Our final for this class was to create some form of Anatomy book with a favored or made up humanoid character as it's star. We were to label the bones, musculature, and major systems of the body. For my character I picked one that had never been done in this specific teachers' class before. Mario! There was a challenge involved with this, Mario, for all his human qualities, is quite oddly shaped, therefore, I had to modify the shape of his skeleton! It was quite the adventure making everything fit where it was "supposed" to go! And, having had a Childrens' Illustration class at the same time, my idea turned from just a book to a Coloring Book! My teacher loved it enough that he had to make an extra copy for his son!

This is the just the cover and first page (above) but this link will take you to the entire book!

Mario and Dr. Mario and Super Mario Font copyright Nintendo, all innard drawings copyright me.

Creature Design - Snake/Lizard Concept.

Another creature my brain developed. A fast, agile creature, half snake with it's long sinewy body, and half lizard with it's muscular legs built for speed and endurance. Preys upon smaller lizards or snakes as well as rodents in it's desert habitat. Spines on head and spine ridge used in defense and are dangerously sharp and secrete a type of venom. About the size and length of a fully grown Iguana, and has few natural predators because of its size. Large birds of prey and the occasional brave and starving coyote target these rather vicious lizards.

CloudDancer's Alaskan Chronicles Volume III - Cover

Back in October I won the cover illustration contest for Gary Bakewells' "CloudDancer's Alaskan Chronicles Volume III". The challenge: getting an airplane to kneel at a grave. I believe this was successfully met in the fact that he chose my art and aided me in fixing it. I spent probably a total of two days on this project. First drawing the rough sketch and coloring it as a test piece:

Then cleaning it up in Photoshop:

This is no longer my artwork, but Gary gave me permission to use it as a portfolio piece, so show it off I will! I'm quite proud of my take on a humanized-Super Cub airplane, something I had never drawn before at all!
